We added the adsense snippet in our header.php

    <script async="" src="https://pagead2.googlesyndication.com/pagead/js/adsbygoogle.js?client=MY-ID" crossorigin="anonymous" data-checked-head="true"></script>

For testing purposes we installed Site Kit, but then uninstalled it again. Now there is a second snippet in the head:

    <script src="https://pagead2.googlesyndication.com/pagead/managed/js/adsense/m202307250101/show_ads_impl_with_ama_fy2021.js?client=MY-ID&amp;plah=MY-DOMAIN&amp;bust=31076426" id="google_shimpl"></script>

I have no idea where the second snippet comes from. Is it possible that it remains from the previous Site Kit installation? If yes, how can I remove it?

    Regards

Thanks for reaching out @hussain76. From checking your site at present I can see only one snippet placed, a snippet not placed via Site Kit.

If you prefer to remove this snippet and use only Site Kit to placed your snippet, there are a few ways to check for any manually inserted snippet, including checking your theme files or your third party plugins.

Note also that as you have an existing AdSense snippet placed, not via Site Kit, ads will still appear if your site is approved for ads.

Let me know if you have any further questions on this.

Thanks. I was a little confused as I do not understand where the second snippet

    <script src="https://pagead2.googlesyndication.com/pagead/managed/js/adsense/m202307250101/show_ads_impl_with_ama_fy2021.js?client=MY-ID&amp;plah=MY-DOMAIN&amp;bust=31076426" id="google_shimp"></script>

comes from. According to your answer, there‘s nothing to worry about. Thank you.

No problem, happy to assist. And correct that if you’re using a manually inserted snippet as opposed to a Site Kit placed snippet your site will shows ads as long as your site is approved. Best of luck.
