• Hope someone can help with this issue.

I am using WordPress Version 2.3.3.

    Here is the problem;

    The following site: https://www.african-safari.com.au

    1. When you go to the home page it is displaying Ads about Blogs etc.
    2. But when you go to other pages i.e About Us you will see that it is displaying the right type of Ads
    3. The same thing is happening on https://www.acid-reflux.com.au
    4. I have done several re-installs on both sites but get the same problem.

Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

  • Hi blues_1979, how did you solve it. I see you’ve resolved it?

I’d like to know how to resolve this too. Anyone know?

It takes time for Adsense to get the targeting right. Also, beware of using the words “wordpress”, “blog”, or “weblog” on your site or as the name of your WordPress directory if you have a continuing problem with blog-related ads. Also look into Adsense section targeting.

Thanks…. I noticed there’s some code in the header and footer about the site being powered by WordPress. I wonder if that’s it, or whether my site is simply too new (less than a week…)

This is the code that appears in the header:

    <meta name=”generator” content=”WordPress <?php bloginfo(‘version’); ?>” />

    This appears in the stylesheet:

    Theme Name: ProSense
    Theme URI: https://www.doshdosh.com/wordpress-themes/Prosense-Adsense-Ready-SEO-Theme
Description: ProSense is a fast loading and search engine optimized Adsense Ready WordPress Theme, specifically designed for all types of niche and professional content.

Distributed under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 3.0 License.
Author: Dosh Dosh and The Wrong Advices
    Author URI: https://www.doshdosh.com

And this appears in the footer:

    Powered by WordPress

I have the meta generator code on my site, and I don’t have a problem with blog ads, so I don’t think that Adsense cares about it. I don’t think that the Adsense bot even looks at the stylesheet. I did remove the WordPress link on my theme though.

Thanks for weighing in. Hopefully this problem will resolve itself the next time the google bot comes by…..

A strange thing I’ve noticed today is that on other computers (library, other computers in the house) the front page adsense ads on my site match the content, but on my own computer, they’re still showing up as blogging ads. Very strange….

Well, it’s been a week since I launched my website and Adsense, and I am happy to say the correct ads are now showing on the front page, i.e. the problem resolved itself.
