Adsense Question

  • I’m trying to implement googe adsense on my site. I wish to have a wide sky scraper in my sidebar and a 468 banner at the top of my index page.

    Inserting the code to sidebar.php or index.php works fine. But when both codes are implemented together, only the index.php code shows up. If I later remove this code in index.php the ads in the sidebar start to show again.

    Any ideas what could be causing this and more importantly how to get around it?

  • Did you give it some time? Google needs to process your site and come up with applicable ads to slot in. I had this problem for the first little while after enabling >1 adsense on a page. It maxes out at three total in any format. So, my theory would be that if you gave it time, and refreshed the page every few minutes, you might find it just starts working. At least, that’s been my experience! ??

    The other possibility is there’s something in the embedded code that’s breaking the second version, but that’d be as likely to screw up the page itself and not specifically affect the other instance (unless something wacky is happening with javascript..).
