• Hi,

My site, https://freestuffpage.com , is using the latest version of WordPress 2.3.1 and the latest version of AdSense Manager 2.5.

I notice that on the front page of my site, the plugin does not limit to itself to 3 ads per page. You will see 5 latest posts and then notice 3 big empty spaces at the end of the latter posts.

Note that I have one ad inserted into the header template and an ad included to the end of each post.

I recalled that this plugin will know how many AdSense ads are there on a page and then limit to show 3 on each page. What should I do to get rid of the extra empty spaces?

    Thanks for your help.

  • brianchow: Currently there isn’t any way to do this with AdSense Manager or with Google code – the only option is to show the blank space of a given colour.

I can code this into the next release (probably aiming for v3.0 with the changes that are coming) but there is the not-obvious problem of deciding which ads to show if there is a limit.

While it’s easy to look at a page and think “well get rid of the sidebar ads first” or “show fewer ads in posts” the problem is that AdSense Manager has no knowledge of what order the page is being output in – if the theme throws out the sidebars first the ads there will be prioritise, if the sidebars come out last only the ads in the posts will show up.

If that would still be better than nothing let me know & I’ll throw the option in for you.

If you could point us to the part of the code where the base color is set, we could tweak it. I just need the empty boxes to show up black, not white.
