Adsense not showing in widget sidebar question

  • Hello,

    I run Adsense ads on my WP blog and I have three ad units that appear on the homepage (one in the middle of each of the top three most recent posts).

    I also have an ad unit that appears on one of my widgets in the sidebar but it does not show on the homepage because of the three ad unit limit….this part of it is fine.

    Problem is I have a space on the widget when you view the homepage. I would like to have an alternate ad appear there. I have tried using the alternate ad URL in Adsense but it doesn’t show anything….just the blank space.

    Would someone be able to instruct me on how I could get an alternate ad to show on the sidebar when you view the homepage??

    Im running WP 2.2 BTW

    If I remember correctly, the alternate ad option with adsense is only for when there are not ads to show for the topic of your page. Not to replace ads when you have too many on a page. What are you using to show the ads on your site? Something like Adsense Deluxe or coded into your template?

    I’m using Auto Adsense Plugin by Dave Pankhurst.

    It inserts my Adsense ads into the posts.
