• I have registered with Google AdSense and have received my first Ad code to place in my blog. It is a 120 x 240 ad which will be placed in a Custom 120 x 240 widget. I cannot figure out how to place this code into the ad widget. Can anyone help?

I do not see even the title that you are referring to. Where did you place the ad code? On the side bar? Can you place it again?

actually I put up two 125×125 ad boxes now.

if the “Custom 120×240 Ad” widget is part of your theme, please contact the theme’s seller for support as they should know best how to use the widget with adsense.

generally, 125 ads are possibly not suitable for adsense as they are coded for linked square image banners.

the experience shows that pasting the adsense code into a textwidget (with or without entering a widget title) usually gives the easiest results.

Pasting the code into the text theme does not work.

What you sate above proves that your theme does not permit placing the AdSense code into any widget area.

Just read what alchymyth advised you above and follow it. That is the only way you can place AdSense codes into your widgets/site.

And I was led to believe that WordPress was such an easy thing to use. All day yesterday spent on trying to put code into one ad space and cannot do it and no one in these forums can tell me how to do it. That is hard for me to believe.

You are using a theme called redux which is a commercial theme. The ad widget is part of that, not part of a standard WordPress installation.

The theme should have been supplied with documentation, but if that doesn’t help you will need to get support from the theme vendor as it is a theme issue, not a WordPress issue; only people with access to that theme will know how that widget is configured.

    Thanks for that info cubcolour.

paste it in text and move the widget to sidebar
