There are many posts on how to do this, basically add a counter to your loop, then check for the counter value, when it reaches a certain number, echo the adsense code.

Since I was one of the original people helping out with placing ads in the templates, I decided to make a plugin (that should be out this weekend) that’ll let you specify locations for generating echoes or includes between posts on the page. Should be pretty darn simple.
