Adsense ad taking over my homepage left side menu

Thanks for reaching out. From checking your site I can see ads appearing over your menu. Luckily, you can remove ads from this section of your site, from the AdSense platform. You’ll find a guide on how to do this below:

Note that you don’t need to make any changes to your Site Kit settings for this.

I have already tried what you suggested before posting, but strangely the Menu covering Ad is not shown in the console preview page, hence I cant delete it.

In fact, the console preview page shows several ads dotted around my sites homepage, yet when I view my site live in chrome, none of the ad units are visible, except for the large left-hand side ad covering the menu.

I inspected this unit in chrome and oddly, I could see what I believe may be two different publisher id’s. I may be wrong of course, but that’s what it appears like. Unless the code I’m seeing is normal.

Do you know what type of ad unit this would be? In page / multiplex / Anchor etc?

If so, I could simply try disabling that ad type.

In relation to the ad code and console errors, as we can only assist with Site Kit queries here, you may wish to check if this is valid over on the AdSense Help Center.

When you’re using the AdSense preview page, to exclude ads from areas of your site, have you also checked the desktop version? By default the preview tool will display your site in mobile format.

It looks like an in page ad. You may wish to check if the same ad appears if disable wide page ads also.

Thanks to you, I eventually tracked it down on my Google Console. It was the Auto Ads Wide Screen option that appeared to be the culprit. I simply turned this option off as suggested and all appears good.
