• Hey there.

I know I should be asking this on the google support forum. but I only got spam answers there. In the past, you guys and girls have been a really valuable knowledge resource for me. Thus, I am asking here. I have the problem that I cannot get adsense to work. Whenever I try to register, I get the message:

We’ve found policy violations on [ redundant link removed ] that are preventing your site from being approved:
    Site down or unavailable
We found that your site was down or unavailable. We suggest that you check your application to see if there was a typo in the URL you submitted. When your site is operational, you can resubmit your application. We’ll be happy to take another look at your application.

I don’t know what they mean by that and how to fix it.
    Best regards,

    Elias

I use uptimerobot.com to monitor sites. You can set it up for free and see if your site does go downa ndup.

    Hey there. Quick update.

So, apparently google was now able to check out my site. The problem is that they think I don’t provide valuable content. (I don’t want to brag or anything, but I am taking blogging seriously and I really intend to inform people about possible applications of mathematics in everyday life. If you take a look at my site, you will see that my site is legit. I have a lot of positive feedback from a wide variety of other blogs and associations such as the AMS itself.) Here is what they told me:

    “Valuable Inventory: Webmaster Guidelines
All sites participating in the AdSense programme should adhere to Google’s webmaster quality guidelines. Below are some excerpts from these guidelines, but we recommend that you take the time to review them in their entirety.

Make pages for users, not for search engines.
Don’t employ cloaking or sneaky redirects.
Don’t load pages with irrelevant words.
Don’t create multiple pages, sub-domains or domains with substantially duplicate content.
Don’t participate in link schemes designed to increase your site’s ranking or PageRank.
Avoid “doorway” pages created just for search engines, or other “cookie cutter” approaches such as affiliate programmes with little or no original content.
Avoid tricks intended to improve search engine rankings. A good rule of thumb is whether you’d feel comfortable explaining what you’ve done to a website that competes with you. Another useful test is to ask, “Does this help my users? Would I do this if search engines didn’t exist?”
If your site participates in an affiliate programme, make sure that your site adds value. Provide unique and relevant content that gives users a reason to visit your site first.
Sites that don’t meet these guidelines may be removed from the search index and have AdSense ads disabled. If this has happened to one of your sites, you need to modify the site so that it does comply with the guidelines, and then submit your site for reconsideration. Once your site has been included in the index, you are welcome to file an appeal to re-enable ad-serving.”

What can I change so that google will accept me? I don’t know what the problem is. Should I just write more posts and then try again?

    Best regards,
    thanks for your help,
    Elias

This is not a WordPress issue. I suggest you take it up in the Google forums.
