this is what my website looks like now

    Hi there,

I replicated this on my end and couldn’t see the ads from the website. Are you able to disable it?

On the other hand, if you have installed a plugin such as Google AdSense plugin, this could be the reason why ads are appearing on your site. To manage this, you can either adjust the settings of the plugin or deactivate it entirely if you don’t want any ads.

Please share with us the following if you are not able to find it for us to better know your setup:

    • System Status Report: navigate to WooCommerceStatus → select Get system report and then Download for support. This will download a TXT file that has the contents of the SSR to share with us.

    Hi @benprosource

I’m glad you were able to find the root of your issue here. This can happen if someone with access to your website’s backend has added the Google AdSense code to your theme’s header file.

If you didn’t add this code yourself, it’s possible that another administrator on your website did, or potentially a plugin could have added it.

Meanwhile, I’ll be marking the thread as solved for now, but feel free to open a new one if you have any other questions.

    Thanks!

    Hi @benprosource

It’s possible that the code was added by a previous developer, a theme that you’ve installed, or perhaps it was added inadvertently while customizing the site.

It’s great that you are able to find it. You can safely remove the Google AdSense code by these steps:

    1. From your WordPress dashboard, navigate to Appearance > Theme Editor.
    2. On the right-hand side, you’ll see a list of theme files. Find and click on the header.php file.
    3. Look for the Google AdSense code, then delete the entire Google AdSense code and click on Update File.

I’m going to mark this thread as resolved, but please don’t hesitate to start a new topic if you have any more questions down the line.

    Have a fantastic day!

    Hi there!

so it defintly did not come from this plugin? I deactivated it meanwhile

It is great to know you managed to deactivate it in the meantime. The Google Listings & Ads extension primarily helps you connect your WooCommerce store with Google Merchant Center and Google Ads. This allows you to upload your products to Google, create smart shopping campaigns and track performance directly from your WooCommerce dashboard.

However, it’s important to clarify that the Google Listings & Ads extension does not directly add Google Ads to your website. What it does is enable you to manage and create Google Ads campaigns that will appear on Google’s search results page and other Google networks, not on your own website.

From your original message, it seems that you’ve found Google AdSense code within your theme’s header file, and you’re unsure how it got there. This can occur due to a number of reasons.

    1. It could have been added manually (as previously mentioned). If someone with access to your site’s files has mistakenly or intentionally added the code, it would appear in your header file.
    2. It could be the result of using a plugin or theme that automatically adds such codes (as previously mentioned). Some WordPress themes and plugins have built-in options to add code to your header or footer.
    3. It might be the result of a security breach. If your site has been compromised, unwanted code could have been injected into your files.

I hope this helps, but let us know if you have any other questions.

    Cheers.
