I am looking at some really cool premium themes, that look awesome. But they have limited ad support. Some have listed restrictions on the size of blocks and shapes, and on one of such themes in the support section he was inquiring about placing adsense blocks of specific dimensions, and they mentioned it would take some customization of the css, and some files. Something which is way beyond my current level of expertise.

If I get one of these really nice themes, would I be able to supplement their lack of built in ad support with some of the ad serving wp plugins I’ve seen around? Even though these features aren’t built in to the themes, since it is still built on WP foundation ad serving/placement should still be able to be changed? At least thats what im thinking/hoping. Thanks for any help you can provide!

Not sure which themes you are looking at, but you should have no problem inserting ads in a real premium theme. A lot of the best premium themes have inbuilt options for ads, custom ad widgets etc. You could use a plugin for ads if you wish.

Also one of the advantages of buying from a reputable premium theme developer is the included support to help you with basic customizations, css, inserting your ads etc.

Sweet, that would be so awesome. I was looking at the ‘Striking’ theme, ‘Karma’ theme, and ‘inFocus’ theme. All of which are in the top 5 all time selling themes on themeforest. So it sounds like even if I had to modify css, that it is something that i could do with the right instruction without coding knowledge. This is great news, because I thought I was going to have to pick a crappy looking theme because I thought it would be too difficult for my skill level to modify sidebar widths to insert ads. Thanks!

Anyone else with insight or advice please comment! I would love to hear your thoughts on this!

Umm ok, you might need to be a bit careful with themes from ThemesForest particularly regarding the support. Some can be good, some terrible. They are cheap themes so you get what you pay for.

If lots of help and support is important to you, it might be better to look at the more reputable premium theme providers.

Also modifying main structural elements like sidebar widths etc might not seem like much, but can actually be quite a lot of work and beyond the amount of support which is considered reasonable.

There heaps of themes available these days so you might be better off to find a theme which already has the layout and structure you want, rather than trying to make big structural modifications just to insert ads.

Which of the more reputable premium theme providers would you recommend? I definitely don’t mind spending money. I just want to get something with a great look to it, that also allows me to place ads as I need. Thanks again!

I saw some reviews of ad placement plug-ins, that state you can insert ads without disrupting the template. That sounds like it would solve my issues? What do you guys think? Have you tried such ad plugins with any success?
