Ads on a custom post type category page

The easiest way would be the Custom Position placement of Advanced Ads Pro. Using the tools of the free version, I suggest adding a manual placement via PHP into the template files of the archive pages.

Here, you can find a manual about how to integrate manual placements in the post lists. This is not exactly what you are looking for, but it already gives you a direction.

This manual is about how to embed header ads with manual placements. It provides more information about the manual placement to complete the instructions from the first manual above.
