    Hello,

I haven’t used ads for a while since my site crashed after WordPress update (to 6.0).
Now the site works, but the ads don’t show up. The simple thing. In my Main Sideboard I use Custom HTML and put there my
    <script data-ad-client=”pub-……………….” async src=”https://pagead2.googlesyndication.com/pagead/js/adsbygoogle.js”></script&gt; code.
    And nothing shows up.
On the other hand, there are no warnings, Ad Health is OK, Adblock disabled. Why so?
Also Advanced Ads doesn’t create and doesn’t see ads.txt-file. But it exists, I see it on FTP, and its content is OK.
    Please help

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hi Igor,

    thanks for reaching out.

In my Main Sideboard I use Custom HTML and put there my
    <script data-ad-client=”pub-……………….” async src=”https://pagead2.googlesyndication.com/pagead/js/adsbygoogle.js”></script> code.

This code is the general AdSense verification code for your website. It needs to be placed in your websites <head> section, which is already done twice, so I suggest removing the code snipped from your sidebar again.

I also suggest searching for the second implementation, done manually or by another plugin like Site Kit and removing this one as well to avoid further irritations.

If this is done, I recommend following the instruction from this manual creating an AdSense ad unit in Advanced Ads and using the sidebar placement. If this is done and the ad is showing, you can create more placements also within your articles.

Also Advanced Ads doesn’t create and doesn’t see ads.txt-file. But it exists, I see it on FTP, and its content is OK.

I was unable to see your placed ads.txt file on https://www.tsaritsyn-tours.com/ads.txt so I recommend removing the manually placed file and utilizing the Advanced Ads option to show the file. This should be done automatically right after you connect your Advanced Ads backend with your AdSense account.

Please try the approaches from the manuals linked above and let me know if you need anything else.

    Best regards,
    Henning

    Hi Henning,
No, sorry. And I’m not a programmer and won’t be, unfortunately. I’m a tour guide 60+. So, things like “creating an AdSense ad unit in Advanced Ads” are not for me, unfortunately again. Which ads I suppose to create? I simply tried to place standard default google ads in my side board, when it was before. And I started to think that google banned my site for Russian language due to the last political news, although I live in Israel. File ads.txt exists on FTP as before. “script data-ad-client” is the same. So I really don’t know what to do. To delete ads.txt to in order to substitute it with exactly the same file? What to you mean, please, by the second implementation? I didn’t put “script data-ad-client” twice in my start page. Where should I search for it? But the program really doesn’t create a new ads.txt-file and I don’t know why. Thank you. Yours, Igor

    Hi Igor,

    Thanks for the reply.

I simply tried to place standard default google ads in my side board

The code you placed actually in your sidebar via the widget is not correct. I recommend removing it again.

File ads.txt exists on FTP as before.

This file also does not look correct. I recommend removing it via FTP.

After this, you can create a dummy ad with Advanced Ads (there is a video-tutorial included) and place it in your sidebar to learn how to use the plugin and preparing the next step.

If this is done, I recommend following the instruction from this step-by-step-guide creating an AdSense ad unit, import it into Advanced Ads and using the already created sidebar placement. If this is done and the ad is showing, you can create more placements also within your articles.

Please let me know if you have any more questions. For quick reference, you can also browse our other detailed and extensive plugin Knowledge Base, articles and tutorials.

    Hi Henning,

First 4 steps done, and you can see my simple ad (a photo with some text) as the last block in my Main Sidebar.

But the questions continues: I can’t create ads.txt-file and place Google AdSense. What do you recommend? Thank you.

    Hi Igor,

Thanks for confirming the basic ad injection works as expected.

I suggest continuing with the AdSense integration now and looking at the ads.txt at last. Have had you the chance to create an AdSense ad, connect Advanced Ads and your AdSense account and import the ad unit to place it in your articles or the sidebar position already created?

    Best regards,
    Henning

    Hi Henning,

That was my question. Advanced Ads sees my account: pub-37968…., but doesn’t create ads.txt – file (“The file was not created”) and my ads-unit in the Main Sideboard doesn’t work. Of course I copied the code from Google, but this doesn’t help.
I can send you the full code if necessary, and all the other things needed.
    What can you recommend?
    Thank you.
    Yours,
    Igor

    Hi Igor,

but doesn’t create ads.txt – file (“The file was not created”)

I expect the actual file present in your website’s root directory https://www.tsaritsyn-tours.com/ads.txt to interfere here. Please remove this file manually to continue with, utilizing the Advanced Ads option to create the ads.txt for you.

    Hi Henning,

I deleted the ads.txt-file from my ftp root directory long ago, and AdSense recognizes my pub-379689333494…. But it cannot create ads.txt-file.
AdSense page of Advanced Ads still has the following warning:
    “Warning from your AdSense account
One of your sites is missing the AdSense publisher ID in the ads.txt file. Create one now. Learn more about AdSense account issues here. dismiss
Due to the war in Ukraine, we will pause monetisation of content that exploits, dismisses or condones the war dismiss”
My touristic site never mentions any wars and I live in Israel
    Thank you,

    Hi Igor,

If you open https://www.tsaritsyn-tours.com/ads.txt in your browser, you will see a blank page, but looking at the source of this page still shows content. I am unsure where this is coming from, so I assumed there must be still a physical file present. If this is not the case, please investigate other plugins or server settings creating this file and blocking the ads.txt creation by Advanced Ads on your website.

One of your sites is missing the AdSense publisher ID in the ads.txt file. Create one now. Learn more about AdSense account issues here.

This message might be connected to this very website and will vanish after the file was created successfully.

Due to the war in Ukraine, we will pause monetisation of content that exploits, dismisses or condones the war

This is a general message from AdSense imported from your AdSense account, and you can remove it by clicking on “dismiss”.

Please let me know if you could find the reason for your actual file displaying as your ads.txt and if you have further question about Advanced Ads.

    Best regards,
    Henning

    Hi Henning,

At last I created ads.txt, and I can see it at
    https://tsaritsyn-tours.com/ads.txt
I set Google Auto ads off
and tried to create a main sideboard Widget block with AdSense ad
    I used Custom HTML: [the_ad id=”13230″]
and Advanced Ads: Ad Sense 1 (AdSense ad Responsive). Should be the same
But the ad still doesn’t show up.
Although the debug output writes that “The ad is displayed on the page”
    Can you please advise something?

    Thank you,
    Yours,
    Igor Ts.

    Hi Igor,

I checked back your website and found the AdSense ad appearing at the end of your sidebar. Your ads.txt though still looks not 100% as expected.

Please try your AdSense ads also on other positions if you like, and let me know if you have further questions about Advanced Ads.

    Best regards,
    Henning

At last! The solution was so simple! Some google chrome://extensions/ blocked the Ad: or Adblock Plus, or Malwarebytes. I removed them and now I can see the Ad on my site
    Thank you, Henning
