    Hi,

I connected AdSense to my WordPress (handbuiltcity.org) and it was working for a couple of days, sort of, before all of the ads disappeared. There is an error message that says there is something wrong with the ads.txt file, but when I go to update it with the suggested code, it says “A third-party file exists” and then when I try to update it, it says “Could not delete the existing ads.txt file.”

I’m not very savvy with WordPress so this is quite frustrating and I’ve wasted a lot of time trying to figure it out. Any help would be appreciated!

    Hi nzorach,

    Thanks for reaching out.

This is a known bug generated by the abandoned affilinet Performance Ads plugin.
Please remove this plugin and migrate your ads to awin.com since they bought the affilinet network.

After that Advanced Ads should be able to place the right ads.txt for you and AdSense ads will automatically reappear after Google checked back to your page.

Please let me know if you need anything else.

    Best regards,
    Henning

I removed the plugin but I’m not sure what you mean about migrating to awin and that page doesn’t do a very good job of explaining it. Why would I need awin if I already have AdSense linked into Advanced Ads?

i’m not really sure what the sales pitch is or how this thing gets five out of five stars when there is literally zero way for me to find any answers to any of my questions

    Hi @nzorach,

Thanks for your replies and sorry for the confusion.

I removed the plugin but I’m not sure what you mean about migrating to awin. […] Why would I need awin if I already have AdSense linked into Advanced Ads?

The mentioned affilinet Performance Ads plugin indicated that you use ads from the ad network affili.net. This ad network belongs to Awin now and you will need to migrate your ads from this network as well to ensure that you still earn money with your clicks. If you don’t use any affili.net/awin ads, please, just ignore this advice.

I noticed that you purchased Advanced Ads Pro and already opened a support ticket in our email system and replied to it there too. Please, take a look at your inbox to find my answer.

    Best regards,

    Hi @olysawyer,

Your ads.txt is generated by Advanced Ads and looks fine. AdSense ads are currently showing up.

If you have further questions, I want kindly ask you to open a new thread and not to attach your question to another one in order to keep the forums clear and focused on a single topic.

Thanks in advance and best regards,
    Joachim
