• Running WP 4.0 and Ads 1.0.10

I’ve created four groups, each with a single ad assigned to that group (for right now, more groups and more ads coming soon).

Three of the ad groups are in the left navbar and appear to be working as expected (other than impressions counts, noted in a separate post).

The fourth is in the body of a page. I’ve entered the shortcode

    [dfads params='groups=32&limit=1']

which should insert one ad from group 32. There is currently only one add in group 32, so it should come up on every page load.

Instead, it’s rotating between all 4 existing ads. Three of them are not assigned to that group.

As a test, I created a 5th ad and assigned it to the same group (32). I now have 5 ads in the rotation.

When I unassign that 5th ad from the group, it still displays in the page.

I created a 6th test ad and assigned it to a brand new banner group. It has never been assigned to any other banner group. It also displays in the rotation.

Deleted ads 5 and 6. Threw them in the trash. Created test ad 7. Never assigned to any banner group. It displays in the rotation. (thankfully, ads 5 & 6 do not)

Did I miss an instruction somewhere, or is this a bug?

    Hi,

Make sure that your shortcode doesn’t have any HTML markup in it if you’ve added it to the body of a WP Post or Page. If it has HTML markup in it, it won’t work properly.

Do you mean the ad itself, or the shortcode?

Shortcode above is exactly as it was inserted in the page. No HTML in between the [ and ]

The ads do have HTML… a href and img src, otherwise it wouldn’t be much of an ad ??

I mean the shortcode. Did you turn off the “Visual” editor and inspect with the “Text” editor?

That was it. When copied from Settings => Ads and pasted into visual it inserted some <span>s

    Thanks.

Thanks for this, had the same trouble and yes found the same <div> settings on the main page. Doesn’t ever happen using the side widgets however.

    Thanks
