    Our advertisements all disappeared with the update to 2.1.
    Is there a simple way to get them back in this template, especially the header ad?

    Hello,

    As I have mentioned via email already, there was never a “header ad” in this theme, it has nothing to do with advertising management, as that is not something that a theme should do.

    You can easily add advertising to the widgetized areas (usually) using Text Widgets, as they allow HTML/JS code.

    If you need to add advertising to custom locations, then you will probably have to customize the theme with your own code.

    Is this Deadline theme the same as the one that was designed by Orman Clark?

    For future reference: WordPress seems to automatically update themes with the same name without checking that they match and were made by the same developer.

    This is the response that I got from the developer of the original Deadline paid theme that I was using:

    I hope you are well and thanks for your email. Unfortunately, someone copied our theme name on www.remarpro.com and WordPress now checks against the theme repository on www.remarpro.com for updates. We will have a look to see if we can stop this from happening.

    Hopefully you had a backup and it didn’t cause too much inconvenience for you. If you have automated updates enabled then I suggest you disable this for now using the following plugin:

    We didn’t copy anything. Deadline is a generic word found in the dictionary.
    Considering that there are 4400+ themes on www.remarpro.com, it is only natural that some themes will have the same name as themes that exist (or existed) outside of the official repository.

    I do hope that you had a backup, or you can always download the latest version of their theme, if you still have access to it.

    We were able to restore from a backup.

    I don’t believe you did anything malicious, only something that could have been avoided by due diligence and prevented an inconvenience.
