    Hi all,

Common issue. When attempting to activate AdRotate I get the following warning:

“AdRotate 3.10.8 and newer requires PHP 5.3 or higher. Your server reports version 5.2.17. Contact your hosting provider about upgrading your server!”

However I did upgrade to 5.3 in GoDaddy about 12 hours ago, confirmed through the GoDaddy management panel that it has been changed, and yet the warning remains.

I know this is not an issue with AdRotate but does anyone know what else must be done so that AdRotate and any other plugins recognize that Godaddy has been upgraded to 5.3? An INI file change, htaccess, etc?

I’m holding off on call GoDaddy support as I’d rather get answer from people who might know something.

  • Hello
Please try with the following entry in the .htaccess
    AddHandler x-httpd-php5-3 .php

    best regards R.F.

Godaddy upgrades may take up to 24 hours to “work”.
I dont know why, but a bunch of other users mentioned it being slow.

Check with Godaddy why this is. I don’t know.

AdRotate simply acts on the reported version by the server. Just like most other scripts.
If the server reports a too old version then AdRotate will assume that’s correct.
