Administrator has lost access to Advanced Access Manager

    Hi,

    I’m currently working on a website with a lot of users who have different roles.
    To manage the accessibility of each user I use Advanced Access Manager and only the Super_Admin could see the AAM administration.

    But yesterday the AAM link disappear from the administration menu and when I try to access to the page directly (/wp-admin/admin.php?page=wp_access), I’ve got a message wich tells me that I don’t have the permission to access this page.

    Everything works well, even the AAM configuration but I can’t use the plugin anymore.

    Please, can someone help me ? I don’t have the time to delete all the plugins and redo the configuration, so if someone have a trick to access the plugin, i would be really greatfull.

    No worries. Looks like you lost your aam manage capability. Can you please send me the dump of your WP_Options database table.

    Just in case, I use :
    Advanced Access Manager v1.7.2
    Wordpress v3.5.1

    I have this same problem ? same version as above… I no longer see access manager on menu and if I try to go to an old link of it in history I get access restricted.

    Hi silhouett,

    Vasyl Martyniuk helped me to find out what’s wrong with my AAM installation.

    The solution I used is to replace directly in the database the capabilities of my Super-Admin user.
    In the table “wp_usermeta”, I found the “wp_capabilities” row associated to my Super-Admin user and I replaced the value by :

    a:2 {s:13:”administrator”;s:1:”1″;s:11:”super_admin”;s:1:”1″;}

    I am having a similar problem. I set up WordPress for a client organization. They are a membership organization with new site administrators assigned every year. I had never noticed a straight WordPress install as having a super-admin before – only the multisite setup, which this site does not have. I’m not sure where the super-admin came from, but it’s there under Other Roles on my account.

    The problem lies in the fact that the current Admin can’t get to the dashboard menu item to manage the access of new members, which is one of his jobs. And, there doesn’t seem to be a way to set another super admin. Do you have any clues for me?

    Post Edit: by disabling the Roles plugin, I was able to go to Users and reassign the admin as Super Admin. The Other Roles column is gone, but my own account is still in the Administrators and Super Admin categories. However, the gent in question still doesn’t have the link to the Advanced Access Management tool, although it does show up in his list of plugins.
