• I am a long time WP user, using the most current version 2.8.1

    When I mouse over Settings, I show a list of subpanels. Missing from the list are subpanels for the weblog, e.g., writing, discussion, miscellaneous, etc.

    If I click on the Settings icon, then I get General Settings. I still lack access to the weblog’s other standard subpanels.

    Could a plugin, or the number of plugins that I use that offer control, have corrupted the appearance of my Settings panel?

  • I can access all the subpanels on Settings with v2.8.1
    BUT, in Reading, I don’t see the feature to set the static front page. ??
    Luckly I know how to change stuff just by exploring the db, but I don’t know what the option is not in the Settings > Reading dashboard.

    Any luck with this JC?

    My settings administration panel is missing altogether and I need to change the URL for the media library uploads.

    same issue. using 2.8.4a and ‘miscellaneous’ is missing from the settings menu.

    Been looking for an answer to this for hours…I am using WPMU, but I stumbled across a fix:

    You have to modify
    /wordpress/wp-admin/menu.php

    modify
    $submenu['options-general.php'][45] = array(__('Security'), 'manage_options', 'options-security.php');

    to
    $submenu['options-general.php'][50] = array(__('Security'), 'manage_options', 'options-security.php');

    I did this and it worked, I now have the Miscellaneous tab in my settings menu…. now I just need to figure out why the Miscellaneous Settings Page is completely blank.
