• Hi, I’ve just signed up for this and I’m only comfortable with basic HTML, etc. Each time I want to post something, I am instructed to ‘log in’ to Administration Panel; problem is, when I follow the link to the A/P, I just get a load of information about what I can post, etc. It doesn’t tell me <b>how</b> to post, nor is there anywhere I can log in to…I’m just really confused! That probably didn’t make a lot of sense, but I basically want to know how to get on with it, as opposed to reading a load about stuff I don’t need to know!

    Help?

  • Once you are logged into your Dashboard (Administration Panel), at the top right of your screen should be a button that reads: New Post.

    Click on that.

Write your title, then write your content.

On the right hand side of the screen will be a button that reads: Publish. When you are finished writing your post, click on that.

There is a great deal more to writing blog entries, such as posting to specific categories and adding tags to your posts, but that will get you started. Some writers never use tags and are happy using the default “uncategorized” category.

    Hope that helps some …

I have the same issue. Except that I have none of these things you have mentioned. I have nothing in the top right corner when I click on my Dashboard but: Howdy Juwster / Turbo / Log Out

Under that there are: Screen Options / Help

On the left when I click on “Tools” All I get is a message:

    Tools
Turbo: Speed up WordPressWordPress now has support for Gears, which adds new features to your web browser.
    More information…
After you install and enable Gears, most of WordPress’ images, scripts, and CSS files will be stored locally on your computer. This speeds up page load time.
Don’t install on a public or shared computer.
    Install Now
Turbo: Gears StatusGears is installed on this computer, but is not enabled for use with WordPress.
To enable it click the button below.
Note: Do not enable Gears if this is a public or shared computer!
    Enable Gears
    Turbo: Gears Status
Gears is installed and enabled on this computer. You can disable it from your browser’s Tools menu.

If there are any errors try disabling Gears, reloading the page, and re-enabling Gears.

    Local storage status: Update completed.

Are there specific tools that are supposed to show up when you click on tools? I have enabled/disabled several times and tried all of the usual fixes for fixing an issue. Nothing seems to make any of these tools show up.

I am totally lost. Can anyone offer any help?
