Administration Email Address vs. Default Connection?

    Does the email address specified in FluentSMTP’s “Default Connection” override the core WordPress “Administration Email Address”?

    I am trying to figure out the relationship (if any) between the two, and what each one is used for.

    FluentSMTP does not over-write any core settings of WordPress.

    That being the case, can you explain:
    What purpose does the Default Connection general setting serve?
    In what scenario is the email address specified in the Default Connection setting used?
