I am trying to change my admin email address through Setting/General, however, I am facing the issue of having an invalid non-exist email address as my current admin email address. Therefore, I am not able to receive the below confirmation email “This address is used for admin purposes. If you change this, we will send you an email at your new address to confirm it. The new address will not become active until confirmed.”

I learned that we could also change the address through “phpMyAdmin” but I do not know how to access the panel. My current host is AWS.

  • Hi!
There are several ways to change that. This is one way that doesn’t involve accessing cPanel/phpMyAdmin/your database:

Go to yoursite.com/wp-admin/options.php and search for admin_email option.

Change it to your current email and hit Update. Don’t change anything else on that page – it can break the site hence it contains sensible data.

    Good luck,
    Vlad.
