• when i try to change the admin profile in any way i get an critical error

    put backup back and reinstall latest update its fixed but when i try the same thing i get the same error

    In both cases you should be able to see what the cause is in the logfile. Often it is a plugin. You can delete the directory of the guilty plugin via FTP. After that you should be able to access it again.

    yes, you need to see php error log. It can be not enough permissions or just server admin not providen MODIFY permission for your mysql user.
