Admin user meta deleted after changing timezone

  • Hi. I recently changed the timezone setting on a website. This caused the user meta for the default admin account to become lost/corrupt. Almost all the meta is gone. That user account now has zero privileges and it’s currently not possible to edit them. Though, it’s still possible to see that they’re an author of posts.

    Luckily the website had other administrator accounts, so we can still log in fine, write posts, etc.

  • Can you give some more details, like WP version, whether you have any plugins that affect dates or user meta (custom roles) or database(cleanup or custom tables), whether the time change was forward or backward?
    Did you view the user entry in phpMyAdmin to see the loss/corruption? Or did you simply see the effects of it?
