    Hi there,

I’ve selected the checkbox Disable tracking for admin level users but GA still tracks my visits to the website. I use a caching plugin WP Fastest Cache and I deleted the cache but it still won’t work. I also set ip level filters in my GA account but still no success.

    I’d really appreciate your help.

    TIA,

    Roy

    Hi Roy,

I just double-checked and the “don’t track admins” feature works correctly. You can verify this by setting up a default WP installation, leaving everything at the default settings, plugins, theme, etc., and then trying again.

That in mind, the issue on your site most likely is related to a conflict with some other plugin or perhaps the theme is doing something weird. My best advice is to do some basic troubleshooting of your plugins and theme to determine the source of the conflict. If it were me, I would start with the cache plugin.

Let me know if I may provide any further infos about the plugin, glad to help.

    Hi Jeff,

I deleted the cache plugin. No change. The GA plugin continues to track admin hits.

Any other ideas you can share will be great.

    Best,

    Hi Roy,

    Glad to help.

As explained in my previous reply, the plugin works great on default WP setup. So you can try setting up a quick 5-minute WP installation, and then using that to compare and test against your other installation. Then after verifying that the plugin works, you can begin adding your other plugins, one at a time, testing between each, until the conflicting plugin is found. Or, as explained, the other way to do it is via some quick troubleshooting of your plugins and theme. There really is no other way to go about it, troubleshooting is how issues are identified and resolved.

    Cheers,

    Jeff
