today something unusual happened when I logged into the wp-admin
for the first time I see at the top of the screen “My Sites Reader”

I used to be able to click ‘view website’ but that is gone.
And when I do go to the website I used to be able to see at the top things like edit page, add page etc. all that is gone and only “My Sites Reader” is on the top left and “write” is on the top right

I added 1 new plugin yesterday – Complete Open Graph – I deactivated it today but the top text does not revert back to normal.

    Please advise.
    Many thanks

  • Hello, thehipgurusguide, & welcome. I think you’re actually logged into your wordpress.com instead of your site’s dashboard. If you log back into your site & pick the option to log in w/your username & password, that should solve the problem.

Thanks Jackie, I think you’re right. But even when I log into the website instead of wordpress.com it still looks the same.

I’m confused. What’s orange cowboy? Your site, when accessing it via the url you provided, says nothing about orange cowboy. Something does not look quite as I would expect here.

@thehipgurusguide, did you perchance enable the wordpress.com toolbar?

I only find how to remove wp admin; not how to enable/disable the wordpress.com toolbar.
    Where do I find that?

An article did suggest this is something with the latest version of WP.
But I could not understand how to revert back to the old version where I could click from from the top bar the view page directly to edit the page in admin

If you log into the site using wordpress.com, there should be an option that you can check/uncheck regarding the toolbar.

    brilliant! that did it.
    many thanks!

Would you please be so kind as to mark the topic as ‘resolved’ so other volunteers will understand you’ve been helped & can go on to help others who require it?

Thank you. I enjoyed working w/you.

I did mark it resolved; and looking below there is no longer a place to check off resolved. If I am missing something do show me what to do – thanks again for your kind support.
