Admin Toolbar Not Visible When Visiting Live Site

Have you removed the ‘rogue’ plugin from your wp installation?
What was the name of the plugin?

Did the site stop responding immediately after you installed that plugin?

Didn’t find which plug in was causing the problem. Removed the latest ones.

Installed a google anayltics code plugin that was blocking javascript on our site.

Also a meta tags plug in – which i believe to be the culprit.

We also had a security plugin that would crash the whole site when you tried to change the settings.

An IT guy we’re working with said the core was broken, so we updated to 3.8.3 today but it didn’t make any difference.

Using a server hosted installation.

Okay.. then what I would do is manually deactivate all my plugins.

You will need either your hosts cPanel (or an FTP program) to gain access to your file directories.

Then, navigate to the “wp-content” directory.

One there, rename the “plugins” folder to something like “plugins-fix”.

This will cause ALL of your plugins to manually deactivate.

Now, try to log into your site.

REMEMBER: Change your folder name back to “plugins” after you are able to successfully log back into your site.

so we’d do this to check if a plugin is causing the issue right?

Then it’s a case of finding the offending plugin and removing it?

I fear one of the plugins has overwritten some of the code, somewhere.

What i’m really looking for is extremely knowledgeable and helpful human being to login to our site and tell us what’s wrong.

Anybody fit the bill?

Yes, this is the common starting point for troubleshooting. If this fixes the issue, we know a plugin is the culprit. If it does not, then we know the issue is deeper, and we can weed out plugins being a possible culprit. It’s definitely the best place to begin.

If a plugin has overwritten code, then we can address that after we know for sure.

Are you able to deactivate all plugins from the admin panel?

yes. i’ll go ahead and do that but we are a live site with decent amounts of traffic. so i don’t want to take it down unless i really have to.

What i need to know is are you gonna be around? Because I really need to have the problems fixed and i’m counting on you to help us out.
