Admin slow from PC – ok from iOS

  • Hi all, hope you can help.
    Have been running all my sites with WP as I like the simplicity (very basic user)

    My problem.
    As of about a month ago, my main site works perfectly, except for the backend (admin pages).
    These will be working fine, and then “lose connection” or get really slow. Sometimes this happens for a few minutes and it re-connects, or other times I must close the browser and try again consistantly over hours…

    During the time the backend is “stuck” I have made several tests, and the web itelf works fine, (public side) and infact using the WP App I can still edit the page succesfully from iPhone/iPad

    This is now a real problem as a new post that should take 5min is taking me hours…

    I have very few plugins installed so dont believe this should be causing it, but as it is an intermittent fault I dont know how to proceed.

    My host/server must be working fine, as the site works fine everywhere except the admin pages!

    I have tried from different browsers and even computers with the same results..

    Any ideas??!

    Have you tried disabling all your plugins to make sure there aren’t any conflicts occurring?

    Also are you using a custom theme or are you running the Twenty Fourteen theme?

    Hi, I have tried disabling plugins, and don’t feel it has made a difference (as it is an “intermittent” fault it is difficult to see inmediate improvements)

    I am using theme London Live, but have been for a few years without a problem..

    I suggest contacting your hosting provider to see if they can shed any light on the issue.
