• Hi

    Just after some advice

With my sites admin login I have the option of using for the username field either email or username, I wondered if it could my the admin easier to hack so wondered if there is a way just to have the username only instead an email address to login with.

    No, it doesn’t. ??

The security is 100% in your password. Usernames are not secure, and are not meant to be secure. As an example, think of Gmail. Your usernmae there is your email address – which anyone that has ever received an email from you knows. Does that make it any less secure? No it doesn’t, because it’s the password that is the secret key that keeps the accounts “safe”.

If you are concerned there’s various 2-factor-authentication plugins available that will make it harder for users to log in.
