• All of a sudden I can no longer access my admin screen to log in to my dashboard. This issue began about a month ago. I have been searching for an answer on and off since then but have been unsuccessful. https://www.stimadesigns.com/hunterdondistributors/wp-admin/

I also noticed that when I click update the screen goes white. If I click the back arrow it goes back to the previous screen and the update goes through.

I know that if I change the name of my current theme (LondonLive) to LondonLive-old and change twentyten to LondonLive. I can access my admin screen and login and if I click update it works the way it’s supposed to. But doing this I have the wrong theme loaded so while I’m logged in I have to go back and change the names of the themes and it works fine to make changes to the site, but once I log out it goes back to the way it was.

Does this mean it’s an issue with my theme? I see that lots of people have this issue and they are using different themes. I could really use the help. I want to be able to upload my site soon, but as long as I’m having this issue I can’t.

  • Hi astima,

Sorry to hear you’re having trouble with your theme. We’re a little limited in what we can help with as that is a premium theme and not publicly available.

I see on your site that you’re still running WordPress 3.2.1. I’m not sure if that’s what you recently updated to or if you’ve tried updating to the latest version of WordPress (3.3). It’s always best to run the latest version, but I can certainly understand your concerns about your theme.

I would recommend switching to the default theme, disabling all plugins, updating all themes that need updates, and then upgrading to WordPress 3.3. I would also recommend checking with the theme developer you purchased your theme from to make sure it’s compatible with WordPress 3.3. If it’s not, it may be best to switch to a compatible theme.

    Hope this helps!

I know you’re limited because it’s a premium theme. I did try upgrading WordPress and it did not make a difference, so I went back to the 3.2.1. because it was messing up some of my plug-ins. If it had worked I would have left it.

I contacted the developer of my theme and their only suggestion was reload WordPress. because other themes work does that mean there is an issue with the theme.

    Hello again astima,

If other themes are working then yes, there is an issue with that theme being compatible with your version of WordPress. Also, you may have an issue from one or more of your plugins. You could also try disabling all of your plugins, switching to the LondonLive theme and seeing if that resolves the issue. If it does, turn each plugin back on one at a time and test after each to determine which plugin or combination of plugins might be causing the issue.
