• Hello all!

    I noticed this issue today. Before posting, I receive a “Submit for Review” message when I am logged in as Admin. After clicking the link, I am taken to a message that reads “You are not allowed to edit this post.”

    Not sure if these are two separate issues or just one. I searched the forums and found solutions, but could not figure out how to go through the steps by myself.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Tim

  • Are you sure you are logged in as admin? When did you notice this? Was something updated or changed that might have caused this?

    Positive. I just noticed it today. I also noticed the new WP update. I thought by updating that the error might go away, but it did not.

    I spoke with my host (1&1) and was told they cannot help me. Any suggests?

    Using Phpmyadmin (or another MySQL management tool), first backup your database. Then navigate to your wp_usermeta table and locate the meta_key called “wp_capabilities” for your user_id. Change the meta-value for this record to:

    a:1:{s:13:"administrator";s:1:"1";}

    Thank you for the suggestion. I already tried this as well as the a:1:{s:13:"administrator";b:1;} code provided by James. No luck with both.
