Admin password reset Through the automatic emailer

    Hi all,

    Wanting to reset password on our website under the WordPress ADMIN section – i click ‘Forget password’ and enter my email address, it says its sending me a new password – havent receveived it?

    Any help?

  • Sounds like it may be configured to send to a different email address. Do you have ftp access to the files, or access to the database through phpmyadmin?

    Hi Kyle, thanks for your reply. It said its successfull and is sending it to my address. Its rather strange!

    Havent downloaded the WordPress software yet.

    Are you using a wordpress.com hosted site? Or did someone else set up a self-hosted wordpress installation for you?

    Domain is in NZ….
    Does that mean anything?

    Looks like a self-hosted install.. was this site created for you by someone else?

    Also, have you been able to log in before, or is this your first time?
