Experiencing a weird pagination issue inside a WordPress backend.

When I try to view the second page of posts/pages, the link is going directly to an IP address.

    So instead of seeing…

    domain.com/wp-admin/edit.php?post_type=page&paged=2

    I am seeing…

    109.0.0.12/wp-admin/edit.php?post_type=page&paged=2

I have checked my WordPress and Site URLs and they are both set to domain.com, and there are no instances of the IP address in the database.

    Any ideas?

    Hi Tim

Are all other permalinks working as they should?

    Try:
    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem? If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    – switching to the default theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.

-Re-saving your permalink structure at wp-admin > Settings > Permalinks

Deactivated all plugins, switched to the default 2014 theme, and reset permalinks to default. The problem still exists.

This site is hosted by an educational institution – could something on their servers be causing the problem?

    It’s very odd/confusing issue.

What do you have for the WordPress Address (URL) and Site Address (URL) in wp-admin > Settings > General.

Could something on their servers be causing the problem?

Yes it could. (domain mapping, redirecting).

Did you do something prior to this happening? Or did it happen out of the blue? Or is this a new website?

I have domain.com for both, so that should be fine.

Nothing was done to cause this. Our client only just noticed even though the site has been live for a few months.

The problem doesn’t exist when the site is set up locally or on another server which almost certainly says that it’s something on their servers?

I’m having this issue too. Anyone have any updates to their issue here that they don’t mind sharing?
