Admin page appearance in Firebird

  • I’m running Firebird 0.7, and when I upgraded to WP 1.0, I noticed a pretty ugly glitch in how the admin pages look:

    I think it speaks for itself – the positioning is all screwed up. I haven’t touched the CSS for the admin backend. It’s looking normal over in IE6.
    If I use the “advanced editing” option, it renders in a more useable form (stuff’s not overlapping), but it’s still signifcantly different from IE6 (and the logo in the upper left is still messed up).
    Anybody else seeing the same, or am I just unlucky?

  • Nope, not only you, I just upgraded and got exactly the same result.
    WP devs – please don’t make me use IE to post on my blog ! Fix it please – I’m begging you ! ??

    It’s an issue with cached wp-admin.css . Do a force reload or force releoad that file directly. I’m not sure why firebird caches it so aggressively.

    Yup, I just discovered it displaying correctly in Firebird after a refresh before I saw your comment.
    I’ve noticed Firebird is rather aggressive at caching stuff – possibly why it’s so fast, but can cause problems for major page redesigns.

    Sushubh, I think the probs with Opera are related to an Opera bug. Have you tried their forums for help?

    I like the opera, but I generally have to know the story before I show up so I can follow it better. ??

    @matt:I am just doing that. I will either find a solution (so that u can apply it) or never raise the topic again.
    @ alex: The positioning of the blocks is all messed up. Now opera does positioning very well. As good as Mozilla and much better than IE. So there must be something that needed to be checked.

    I took out the .CSS for the #wp head in the wp-admin.css. Then it was fine in Mozilla. ??
