Admin only access to change field content not working on 1 field since update

  • After updating to 1.3.7.9 yesterday, client called as admins could no longer access a field to change value that they could before (that a member would not be able to change). I reverted back to 1.3.7.8 and that fixed all but 1 field. I have changed nothing in the fields or forms. I have it set up IDENTICAL to another dropdown field and that one works for admins only to change value. Option set to NO for User allowed to change.

  • I am on version 1.3.80 and have the same issue – Admin can not change the profile fields set for “No User allowed changes”.

    No it did not resolve it and it seems to get worse!

    I waited before updating (should have checked here first) and I concur with adminda, this did NOT resolve issue. Last good version I keep reverting to is 1.3.78.

    I will not update again until I am sure you have this fixed. Please post that you have tested and confirmed. Nothing else has changed on site other than WordPress version (now 4.7.2)

    I have been in touch with tech support on the issue. I gave them admin access to my site and last night they implemented some changes (don’t know what they did) that seems to have solved the problem with the User Tags extension.

    This is still not working for me through update 1.3.81. I will wait until someone from UM confirms for sure that it will work in a future update. Whatever they did for you they should share, or it should just work as expected when updated.

    I had updated to version 1.3.81 (before they did the fixes to my site) also but that did not do it.

    After the fix they told me that it was the User Tags extension that was causing the problem and they will include the fix in next version of the extension. I guess they are working on it.

    Thank you for your update:) I see 1.3.82 is out, but I can’t keep upgrading, testing, then reverting back. I monitor this forum to see what new things updates bring (and sometimes break:) We don’t do anything with User Tags so not sure what we would need to “fix” there to get it working. Will just wait…and hope:)

    Pre-release pre-v1.3.83.8 released today fixed this issue for me. Admins are now again able to edit fields where “Can user edit this field?” is set to No.
