There is a section of Register Plus Redux’s settings, Admin Notification Settings, under there you will see a checkbox to Enable “Custom Admin Notification”. You may now customize the Admin Email. You are looking to add something like…

    First Name: %first_name%

I don’t see “Custom Admin Notification”. Am I missing something?

Are you using a single install of WordPress or WordPress for Networks?

Radiok marified and I work on the same site. I believe we are using WordPress for Networks because unlike my other instances of WP where I have used your plugin successfully, this instance is hosted through a different host and in the dash drop down menu called “My Sites” we have two options, the first being “Network Admin”, then under that, the name of our actual site. It appears with this rendition, the plugins actually install in the Network Admin dashboard and are then applied to our site. With some plugins, we have ability to configure them from our site dashboard and others are configured only from the Network Admin dashboard, or we’ll end up with a mix of those two options. However, with your plugin, our only choice is to configure it from the Network Admin dashboard as there are no visible plugin configuration options available in the site dashboard; Only the network Admin dash and that is where, after activating and clicking on settings, we receive the permissions error.

Also… after activation, marifried, who is both our WebDev and Site Admin reports she no longer receives new Member registration notifications. If you are aware of this issue, great, however, if not and if it would help you to better understand this, I would be glad to allow you to register and we can adjust your settings so you can view the issue directly.

Ok, yeah you are clearly on WordPress for Networks. Custom Admin messages is one of the features I have yet to port to WordPress for Networks, so that explains that. Regardless, you must make certain that Register Plus Redux is Network Activated from the Network Admin Plugins page. It will not operate correctly individually activated on specific sites.

So would that be something our host provider needs to address or are you saying we should just be able to access “Settings” from the Network Admin Plugins page. If the latter, then this is where the problem begins. I tried that myself and this is where the site resolves to a page stating we do not have permission to access this application or some such message.

I will have Marifried reload the plugin and will get you a screen shot of the error we are getting from attempting to access settings.

Just states “You don’t have permissions to access this page”

Previously, we’ve not had this issue with any other plugins.

You can delete the test post, I saw the error… the page where you network activate would be… um… something like wp-admin/network/plugins.php

What’s the page generating that error?

Yeah, you were not set up as a Super Admin. I would look into that, that’s the access level required to hit that page.

I’ll look into it. I need to put in a Ticket anyway so I’ll make that two. Maybe there was separate logon given for that originally, I’ll need to go back through the docs. I’ll tag you again and let you know how it came out, good, bad or ugly.

Sounds like a plan. I’ll see about getting Custom Admin messages working via WordPress for Networks too. I think it was just a infrequently used feature so I never had a big push to get it working on WordPress for Networks.

Update… Sent in a flurry of tickets to our host. They waved their magic wand… Some things changed visually so I know they were doing whatever it is they do in the background. We did note we are both [Marifried & I] tagged as “Super Admins” in the Network Admins user list. Not sure if that was the case prior or not but in either event we are now.

Long n short…. Same error message, so maybe you should check to see if perhaps WP has thrown you a curve ball with the new versions or something.

By the way, we are using the Ridizain theme and WP version 3.8.1

    Maybe its something with Ridizain?

Our hosts final comment “Perhaps you should check with your programmer, since we have no idea how it was set up.”

And yes I smacked her for being rude… Following that comment, they went over the account, but still to no avail but that doesn’t excuse being rude. Anyway there you have it. If there is anyway we can help you look into this, we would be glad to assist for the good of all man kind… or at least for anyone trying to use your Plugins. ??
