admin not showing up as author

  • Greetings,
    I recently upgraded to 2.6.2 and now I’m not showing up as an author in the drop down box when posting. I’m still a user and administrator, but can’t post under my name.

    Suggestions?

  • At one time, if this happened, it was necessary to create a ‘new admin user’ with the Admin role, delete the old admin user and assign the posts to that new user, then create a new user called admin, then delete the ‘new admin user’ and assign the posts back to the ‘admin’ user.

    Having a complete backup of your database is a GOOD THING!

    This was an option I thought of – we don’t have that many posts so it should be fairly simple. Thank you.

    oh dear, i have over 500 posts… looks like I shall just write a simple script to set the author to another user then create another admin account. Don’t really need to post under admin anymore as due to the problem I started another user account to publish under.
