This may seem strange but when I login as Admin the system allows me into the backend of the site, but it doesn’t recognize me when I try to access my protected content.

If I login as a test user there is no problem.

I am wondering if this may be something within the swpm_membership_tbl that I have screwed up.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks!

Thank you. I see this as being a good workaround, but I think I’d rather find the reason for the problem if I can, and fix it.

Hi Mary, this is how the plugin functions. The instructions above are set up to allow the Admin access to protected content. It is not a workaround. This is how the developers have set up the plugin.

I found the problem. I hired a new coder who has totally screwed up many things on the site. He had removed me as a member, along with several other members. I have now fired him and am putting members back in manually.

I would close this topic if there were an option but there is none.

    Thank you again.

The new way of closing a topic is on the side. You should find s dropdown menu that allows you to close the topic. Let me know if you find it.

    Cool ??

I have the same problem which has arisen.
This only happened after I added a new user level and added an extra forum using WP Symposium.
I’d follow your advice re the additional level except that I can still access another forum on the same site while still being Admin user. So this “feature” is only blocking me from one forum and not the other.
Can you explain and suggest how to overcome this?

    I have now solved this…
I created a new admin user.
I logged in as that user.
I logged my original user out in all places.
I changed my original admin to Subscriber.
I changed my original user to Admin.

    Problem fixed!
