    Hi,

I’ve wanted to unclutter the wordpress menu for my customer, and also hide some menu items for security reasons so they cannot block my out (delete my admin user) or mess up the website by “playing with settings”.

I know how to hide menu items by going to the “Admin Menu” in WP Adminify and then hide certain menu or sub menu items for certain rules via the “Hidden For Rules” dropdown. I know this is the right place because i have done so many times before and had no complaints so far. I can hide some options but a lot are still visible. I only want to keep the menu items for updating the website with content, not the menu items where you can change configuration with and break stuff. Those menu items with an arrow in my screenshot should be hidden, for two items it should hide most submenu items and only show one subitem but every subitem is also showing.

Those with the arrows should be hidden (for two of them only one submenu item should be shown but they all show)

I find out it’s because it’s not saving certain menu items where you set “hidden for rules”.
I can make an items that was hidden succesfully visible again, strangely when i tried to hide this one item again (tried it with “reactions”), the same problem arises, i cannot hide in anymore where first it was hidden.

    Hello @mdvizzy

We have modified the condition for hiding menu items in admin menu plus admin bar. Please update the WP Adminify plugin, I hope this issue will be resolved.

    Hi @royjemee ,

Sadly, this does not fix it.
Main menu items as wel as submenu items cannot be hidden for specific admin users.
I can hide for the entire Administrator role but not for specific users.

I set “hidden for rules” for the entire administrator role (wich i don’t actually want) and for a specific user.
    Screenshot 1: https://i.imgur.com/9dnMUm1.png
Then i press save and when i refresh, i see this:
    Screenshot 2: https://i.imgur.com/PfplOss.png

I can thus hide it for my customer , but then it’s also hidden for me since it’s hidden for the entire Administrator role.

    Kind regards

This is not fixed yet.. i have tried out the multiple updates you have released but no improvement so far.
I have main menu items for the customer’s user that are not being hidden as well as sub menu items.
Please have the developers test this themselves before releasing an update please!
Please do not ask if it has been fixed on my end, please tell me when it has been tested properly and a update has been released that makes it able to hide menu and sub menu items for specific users, not only entire use roles.

    Hello @mdvizzy

I have tested this properly in my local server. Here is a video recorded from 3 days ago.

I am downloading again creating a similar environment like yours mentioned plugin in my local server and will try this again.

    Hi,

    Thanks for the effort.
I see you are not trying out with submenu items. That should work as well, also try out with every menu item and not only “WP Adminify”. I also notice you are installing an additional plugin “Admin Bar Editor”, what is the difference between that and the native WP Adminify menu editor?

    Thanks in advance!

    Hello @mdvizzy

Here is a screencast for you: https://www.loom.com/share/9ef00aee630f4203b0f8c94837e2ebef?sid=a46c80a8-8bdf-4ff4-9a82-52cb45499b10

I have installed the WP Adminify latest version plus WooCommerce in my local server to test the Admin menu hidden rules for submenu items and main menu items from WooCommerce plugin.

Can you also try this in a different local server please?

    Hi,

I also made a video where you can see the issue i’m having: https://go.screenpal.com/watch/cTenFCn1Fn9
At first i thought it was maybe because my user had a “.” in the username / alias but other admin users without a dot experienced the same problem. I disabled all my plugins and reverted back to the “hello elementor” theme but without success. Problem remains.

In a local setup i experience the exact same problem: https://go.screenpal.com/watch/cTenFHn1Fer
I even experience a new problem, the Adminify UI is not loading, menu stays the same etc.

Thanks for looking into this further!

    Kind regards, Matthias

    Hello @mdvizzy

We got the issue and will release an update within 2 or 3 days. I am really sorry for the late. Actually, the issue happens when you create custom user role or use any plugin that has some custom user role like when you installed WooCommece you will get “Shop Manager” , “Customer” user roles.

We have debugged the issue and tested this in our local development branch. We will release the update within a few days. Before releasing any update we try our best to debug. Also, can you please share your website URL with me too?
