I am logged in as the admin but it does not look like I have enough rights to do the things I need to do.

For example, when in “Presentation” I only have “theme” and “Theme Editor” tabs. Seem like there should be more.

And when in “Theme Editor”, when I try to correct code there is no “Save” button/option and the original code reverts.

  • There are no more tabs for presentation in wordpress. Only some themes add some additional tabs.
And to be able to save the modifications using the theme editor you have to have write permissions (chmod 777) for the files of the current theme.

    Good to know.

I can ask for R/WW (from the theme author?) as I have been conversing with the theme designer? Yes? I can also just edit away in Dreamweaver via the remote connection. Right?

No, not actually. You just have to connect to your ftp and change the permissions for the files.

Regard ftp. i have already made code changes on my remote files in dreamweaver and then uploaded and this seems to work. Is that what you meant by connecting to ftp? R
