• I’ve worked with my tech support for my web hosting service, we’ve spent a good amount of time trying to figure out what to do to change the redirect from the login page that takes me back to the login page again, endlessly looping and not being able to get in. Here was their recommendation to post for WordPress Developers, and I ask forgiveness if I’m posting in the wrong place, but here goes:

When I login to my site:
    https://www.awakeandarise.org/blog/wp-login.php

The site redirects to the same login page without any error. The URL address bar redirects to this URL instead:
    https://www.awakeandarise.org/blog/wp-login.php?redirect_to=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.awakeandarise.org%2Fblog%2Fwp-admin%2F

No error information is being shown on any of the shared server’s logs in regards to this. Recently we had to reset the password to my administrator account using PhpMyAdmin + MD5 Encryption because the password reset keys would not validate. I don’t believe that resetting the password was the root cause of my Word Press issues.

Please let me know if anyone has any suggestions how to bring the site back to a functional state. My database appears to be intact and working as it should.

  • I just experienced this same thing after upgrading a 2.5.1 install to 2.6. Fortunately, the site I’m trying to enter is merely a “sandbox” subdomain; however, the behavior is quite worrisome.

Obtaining a new password doesn’t improve things.

However, in researching further, I came across the suggestion to remove cookies. I cleared cookies (only for the subdomain) and was able to immediately log in to the wp-admin Dashboard.
