OK, so I installed the WP User Control plugin, and it’s the first one I have tried out of MANY that actually worked. However, I noticed that there was two options for “custom” url’s in the widget options, and I remember reading that you had to be careful assigning these url’s or you might have login issues site wide…i believe that was the terminology used. SO…I ignored those two settings and left them at the default…which displayed nothing in the text field, so I thought, ok, this is good. I tested the functionality of the register and login, and it worked great. BUT, when I went back to sign in to my admin page (dashboard), it said the location had been moved “here”. I clicked on “here”, and there was nothing. The only way I can get into the dashboard now is by logging in on my site, and even then it brings me to a blank page…but I hit the back button, and there next to login is the word “admin”. And by that I was able to get back to my dashboard. This is disturbing to me, as I would like to know what happened, and what if anything can I do to fix it? Sorry for the long post, but I want to make sure the problem is understood. I am not too tech savvy, so please keep replies geared to a novice. Thanks for any help in advance. I like the plugin, but I want to understand what changed and why. Thanks!

    capsbeats,

Strange. Sounds like you have another plugin installed that is producing this behavior. WP User Control will redirect to a custom login page if you define it within the widget options (Custom Login URL). However, it sounds like you did not do that. WP User Control does not have any code that would produce a “here” hyperlink to another location for your admin or login page, that is definitely being done by something other than WP User Control. We’d recommend disabling plugins one at a time until you identify the cause.

    Cheers,

    -Bill
