admin login not working in firefox

What happens when you try to log in with ff?
Any error messages?

nothing. it remains on the login page and the status says ‘done’

Need a little more detail.

Does it go to a blank page with “Done” on the bottom left bar? (Solution to that)

Or does it simply refresh back to a login screen?

I have a feeling it’s the first option.

Must be some weird cookie issue with Firefox. My WordPress was working fine until I upgraded to 2.5.1 but then I started having this problem.

It seems to work fine if I use:
https://mywebsite.com/wp-login

as opposed to:
https://www.mywebsite.com/wp-login

Yes, this is a problem I just discovered with Firefox 3 (and possibly previous versions). In my example, I have a blog set up on a subdomain, which is actually just a directory in my web root. So in order for this to work in Firefox, I had to use this address:

https://www.mysite.com/blog/wp-admin

instead of

https://blog.mysite.com/wp-admin

Strangely enough, the second example does work in IE7.
