After doing the same thing nearly 10 times and having other eyes on the problem. I think there is something else going on here. I had a blog in .com and wanted to move it to .org. We did everything required by Blue Host. Downloaded wordpress. on blue host. Told it to go to my com website which I thought what was needed to change the .com to org. Blue host says I have done it properly (Scripts says so)but when I go to the wp-admin I still have the old dashboard. I have been working on this for the past 6 hours. I am not saavy enough to take the long way around to get this done. I thought the whole purpose of going to Blue Host was for the “one click quick” quick configuration. They say it works but when I am still going back to the old admin at my .com url. Can anyone help?

  • Did you change name server at registrar so that your domain name points to blue host

I don’t know what you mean. Please give me an example, phrase of what I should have written and where? Do you mean when I registered at blue host?

No where is domain name registered is it wordpress.com or any other registrar as all domain needs to have DNS (destination name server) as is looks like the domain name is still pointing to wordpress.com server that is why when you log in it goes to wordpress.com blog.

Okay. I talked to bluehost. They said the same thing. they gave me the codes I need to have my domain registrar changed to.
Now how do I get there? I have no idea

You need to log in where you bought that domain name or ask their support

I got my answer. Changed my domain
had to change from ns1.wordpress.com to ns1.bluehost.com and
    ns2wordpress.com to ns2.bluehost.com

    Go to Blog:
    Settings
    Domain
Domain Administration Then follow the rest of the directions.

Will show you any domains you have. Just click on the domain that has the DNS you want to change.

Thanks for pointing me in the right direction GOVPATEL!!!!!!

    You are Welcome
