I got a message that my login was disabled due to the password being used in recent data breaches, and it advised me to reset my password, which I did.

New password – totally randomized and 12 characters login, did not work. I got the same message.

Went into the cPanel at my web host, and used the password reset tool for my admin account and did another password reset there with another version strong password.

Still unable to login. This feature in your plugin DOES NOT WORK as you intended. Otherwise, when I reset my password to a strong one that I’ve never used before, it would allow me to login.

    Solution….
    1. Disabled Wordfence by changing plugin directory name
    2. Logging in.
    3. Disabling the feature for “Prevent the use of passwords leaked in data breaches”.

When you have fixed this feature so you can login after updating your password, I’d like to know because – if it worked… it would be a great feature.

    Please fix it!

    Hi,

I am sorry to hear that you are having a problem here.

I would like to have a look at your Wordfence diagnostics report. Please go to the top of the “Diagnostics” tab on the Wordfence “Tools” page. There will be a “SEND REPORT BY EMAIL” button to send the diagnostics report. Enter phil [at] wordfence [dot] com as the email and @dotcominfo as the forum username please.

Once you have emailed me the diagnostics report can you reply here to let me know that it has been sent. This is important in the unlikely event that your installation of WordPress is having an issue with sending mail.

    Thank you.
