admin is not recognized

hi ,
i have problems with my weblog . I remember the admin id , and have tried recovering the password . The password is being reset and coming to my email OK .
but the username is not coming …. i.e tjhe username field is empty , i know the admin username , but when i use that with the new pwd … it is simply going back to the lkogin screen as if , the password was wrong .
what can i do now ?
