    Here’s an odd one.

Some (but definitely not all) of the buttons on my admin interface have gone dead. For example, if I use Appearance > Widgets I can hover the mouse over Primary Sidebar, it becomes highlighted, but if I click on it nothing happens.

Here’s what’s even odder. On the same PC using the same browser in the same session (i.e. without restarting the browser) I can admin a different site and the buttons all work fine.

Oh, and this has only changed recently. I’m not sure exactly when but it’s recent.

    I admit it. I’m flummoxed!!

  • hmmmm, maybe this is a css or javascript [break] issue.

Install firefox, and install the extension firebug. Open firefox, and click the bug at the upper right and go to the console tab. Make sure it’s active, then load your admin page and try to click.

    Does anything appear in red?

Thanks for the tip – we’re actually closer to solving the problem now. It appears to be a conflict with a specific plug-in from dotMailer. Deactivate the plug in, the buttons work. Reactivate it, they stop. CSS or Javascript may be the underlying cause, but I’m leaving that determination to the clever folks!!!

Thanks again for taking the time to help.
