Admin has random passwords

  • For some reason the login page generates random passwords, so much that whenever I log in and try to change the password I will be sent to the login page stating that the password is invalid. I am using the nightly version. Please help.

  • Are you using Opera? I had a case of corrupted cookies a few times which caused it to repeatedly lose logins, which could cause the behavior you describe as well. Open up the cookie manager and delete all the cookies for your site if that is the case, then relogin, that should fix it.

    Nope I’m using IE. I’ve cleared the cookies and I still have the same problem. I’ve visited phpmyadmin and found that the password that I had saved earlier turned into random one. It’s the password. I dunno what to do now.

    The nightly might be hashing the password with md5 before storing it in the database. But that shouldn’t prevent you from logging in using the plaintext password value you entered/saved.

    It still does. I have changed the pass to beta. The login is still admin. Try it out.

    So guess in the database the md5 field for the password reads ‘987bcab01b929eb2c07877b224215c92’, right?

    nope. The pass in the database is still beta. The funny thing is that when I use the retrive password feature it returns another random password O_O
