• Hi there,

I know there are already some included schemes and plugins for extra colour options, but could a proper colour picker not be integrated into core, so users can create any colour combination they want?

This is particularly useful when managing multiple sites. After a short time you end up associating a site with its colours and you don’t have to keep checking the URL bar to confirm you are in the correct site. I’ve already made the mistake of performing certain admin tasks on a site, only to realise afterwards I was in the wrong site.

Btw, the ‘Modern’ colour scheme already included looks more like MS DOS, so maybe ‘Retro’ is a better name for it. I like it ??

Heh, I’m not sure how that’s “Modern”. Why “Retro”? Lets be specific and call it “MS-DOS” ??

The picker is a good idea, but I predict it’s something core devs would want to leave to plugin devs. I’m not involved with core development, so it’s not much of a prediction. I’ve made the same mistake of altering the wrong site. I’ve resorted to a custom admin style on each site which has different background colors that I’ve hard coded for each site. It’s only enqueued for my user so it doesn’t affect others.

I’ve little need to change it once it has been determined, so there’s little advantage to have a color picker in my case. I don’t think it’d even be that difficult for a plugin dev to do something like that. I personally dislike developing UIs so I’m going to refrain.

    Thanks for the suggestion though.
