Admin can’t be post author?

I just upgraded to 2.8x and now when I post I’m only given two author choices at the bottom: my two other administrators. The default should be me, ie “admin”, but that’s not an option. Authors aren’t ever even displayed on my blog anyway, but it annoys me that the “post count” per author is off since the real/main author (me) isn’t an option for new posts anymore. Help?
